Rehearsal Arrangements for A Monster Calls
The rehearsals will take place in the daytime over eight weekends. These will start on Sunday 18th May with a break on 22/23 June.
• We occasionally rehearse on Friday evenings, when appropriate and agreed.
• We draw up a schedule and rehearsals take place in the daytimes every Saturday and Sunday. We ask cast to submit any specific dates and times they will not be available before the schedule is created. The schedule is drawn up as early as possible so that the director and company can work to it.
Final Weekend - 12 & 13 July
• There is an expectation that everyone is available for the last weekend. This is when we run the show and introduce the more technical aspects, use of costume etc.
Dress Rehearsals - 14 & 15 July evenings
• We have two dress rehearsals on the Monday and Tuesday nights of the production week before opening night on the Wednesday. Everyone is needed for the dress rehearsals. These two dress rehearsals are vital due to the nature of outdoor performing. Actors, technicians and stage management need to become familiar with the lighting levels on and off stage and the practicalities of moving around the off stage spaces in the dark.
Performances - 16-19 July
• Performances start at 8pm and always finish by 10.30pm. Actors are usually called for 7pm at the latest. The auditorium is opened to the audience at 7pm so actors need to have cleared the stage and front of house areas by then. We have two performances on the Saturday 3pm and 8pm.
