“The small touring opera company without equal in Britain” – Opera Now

The Clowns – Mozart and Pagliacci
Following the riotous lives of a troupe of travelling players The Impresario, Mozart’s satirical take on the opera world, is served as the prequel to Leoncavallo’s masterpiece I Pagliacci. From the laughter of casting couch capers to the tears of tragic betrayal, this is a tale exploring what lies behind a clown’s smile. A tour de force of hilarity, romance, and devastation sung by some of the profession’s finest singers and accompanied by an acclaimed ensemble of “formidable” chamber musicians. With the world famous tunes of Pagliacci and Mozart at the pinnacle of his musical powers this inventive production will take you on a giddy ride through the parallel worlds of comedy and tragedy.

Tickets may be purchased from Savages on the London Road (A417) Blewbury, Monday to Friday 9.00 am till 6.00 pm. and from 10.00 – 12.00 on Saturday mornings and from Oxford Playhouse.
