The mission of the Blewbury Players, a registered charity, is ‘performance for and by the community’.


“To promote and assist for the public benefit the education and involvement of the local community in performance art of all kinds and in furtherance of this objective but not otherwise the society shall have powers:

a) To stage and promote plays, drama, comedies, operas, operetta, music, dance, poetry readings and other works of performance art for and by the local community
b) To organise education and training activities to develop skills in performance art
c) To purchase, acquire and obtain interests in the copyright of or the right to perform or show any such works
d) To purchase or otherwise acquire plant, machinery, furniture, fixtures, fittings, scenery and all other necessary effects
e) To raise funds and invite and receive contributions from any person or persons whatsoever by way of subscriptions, donations and otherwise; provided that the society shall not undertake any permanent trading activities in raising funds
f) To do all such other things as shall further the objects of the society
g) To assist and further such charitable institutions and charitable purposes as shall from time to time be determined
h) To assist individuals from the local community who may apply to the society from time to time for support in educational or skills development or in the development of works of performance art
