Welcome to the Blewbury Players Website
The main activity of the Blewbury Players, since its foundation, has been the production of plays, operas and other theatrical events of a high standard, generally employing a professional Director but otherwise using non-professional actors and back-stage staff.
Most productions are either in the garden theatre at Orchard Dene House, Blewbury, in Blewbury Hall, or in St Michael’s Church, Blewbury. Its income comes mainly from ticket sales. Its expenditure goes mainly on the costs of its productions, the improvement of its facilities and equipment, and the support of dramatic activities at local schools.
We now have a director for the Summer Play which will be in the week ending 24 July 2010. He is Chris Staines and the proposed play is ‘A Servant of Two Masters' by Carlo Goldoni and is a well known and widely performed Venetian Comedy written in 1753. The Garden Opera Company are set to return with a performance of Verdi's ‘La Traviata', so pencil in the 22nd August for this
